For nearly 60 years the Ferriby Dramatic Society has been performing a variety of plays, reviews and pantomimes to appreciative audiences at the Ferriby Village Hall. The Dramatic Society Youth Theatre was formed in 2001 for local young people aged 11 to 16. The Saturday morning sessions involve 1½ hours of games, improvisation and an introduction to basic acting skills. Membership is limited to 25 so there may be a waiting list for new members. There is no audition and experience is no substitution for enthusiasm. Age is no barrier though anyone in the 20-40 age group is particularly welcome - it just makes casting a little more credible! We are always looking for creative back stage help with lights, set building, special effects and costume. Kind of Alaska by Harold Pinter We would be delighted to have as much local support on that evening, in what will be an enjoyable 3 days at the Village Hall. The event is usually well attended on the Saturday night and it is advised to book tickets. Thursday night is usually a little quieter so the more support the merrier in what is will be very interesting evening.
